Pacific Tsunami Museum

Hilo, Hilo

A Living Memorial to Hilo's Tsunami History

8.3/ 10
Good to go

The Pacific Tsunami Museum, at 130 Kamehameha Avenue in downtown Hilo, describes its mission as education and awareness so that no one dies due to a tsunami, and serves as a living memorial to those who died in past tsunami events. HAWAIʻI Magazine's 2025 readers ranked it third among the island's museums.

Per its site it is open every day, 10 AM–4 PM. Admission is $15 general, $10 for seniors (65+) and military, $5 for youth 6–17 and kamaʻāina, and free for kamaʻāina youth and members; kamaʻāina get free admission on First Saturdays. Phone: (808) 935-0926.
