Wailea Beach Path
Wailea, South Maui
A Free Paved Coastal Walk Linking Wailea's Beaches
The Wailea Beach Path is a paved coastal walkway of about 1.5 miles (roughly 3 miles out and back) that runs past the Wailea resorts and connects several public beach access points, including Ulua, Wailea, and Polo beaches (guides disagree on the exact endpoints and on whether the path reaches Keawakapu and Mōkapu). Every source describes it as free to walk. From the Keawakapu end the path is sand over a dune, and then it is paved with a few small bridges.
Public beach accesses along the path have restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic tables, and free but limited parking; one guide says the lot is open 7 AM–7 PM, and one blog says the walkways stay open dawn to dusk, so confirm both.
Why Roamwise recommends this
A free, easy, scenic walk in a part of Maui where most activities are expensive.
Best for: a sunrise or sunset stroll, a no-cost South Maui activity, linking several beaches in one outing.
Insider tip: park at a public beach access early — the lots are limited — and walk from there.
- Safety notes:
- Access hours and lot hours come from single guides — confirm. Resort frontage is public, but stay on the path and posted public access ways.
