Duke Kahanamoku Beach is the westernmost section of Waikīkī Beach, located beside the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Named after legendary Hawaiian waterman and Olympic swimmer Duke Kahanamoku, this beach represents one of the most recognizable ocean experiences in Hawaiʻi.
With its wide sandy shoreline, protected lagoon, palm-lined surroundings, and views toward Diamond Head, Duke’s Beach is one of the best introductions to Waikīkī for first-time visitors. The adjacent Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon provides especially calm water, while the outer beach area offers a more traditional Waikīkī ocean experience.
