ʻAihualama Trail

ʻAihualama Trail is a beautiful rainforest trail that climbs the western wall of Mānoa Valley
through dense bamboo groves, towering banyan trees, and native forest. While the first section
follows a series of switchbacks, the trail eventually reaches a ridge where hikers are rewarded
with sweeping views of Mānoa Valley, Diamond Head (Lēʻahi), and Honolulu.
Unlike the crowded Mānoa Falls Trail, ʻAihualama offers a much quieter experience. It is popular
among locals and experienced hikers looking to escape the crowds while remaining close to
Honolulu. The trail also serves as an important connector within the Honolulu Mauka Trail
System, linking to Pauoa Flats Trail and other routes.
