ʻEhukai Pillbox Trail (Sunset Pillbox Trail)

ʻEhukai Pillbox Trail—also known as Sunset Pillbox Trail—is one of the North Shore's best
short hikes. The trail climbs steeply through ironwood forest before reaching a series of World
War II observation bunkers ("pillboxes") overlooking the legendary Seven Mile Miracle.
Although the hike is relatively short, the climb is steep and can become slippery after rain. The
reward is one of Oʻahu's most spectacular coastal panoramas, stretching from Waimea Bay to
Sunset Beach, ʻEhukai Beach (Pipeline), Shark's Cove, and the turquoise waters of the
