Keālia Trail is located above Mokulēʻia on Oʻahu's North Shore and is part of the Nā Ala Hele Trail System. The hike begins near Kawaihāpai (formerly Dillingham) Airfield and climbs a steep series of switchbacks before reaching a ridgeline overlooking the coastline.
The trail is unique because it serves two very different audiences:
● Casual hikers often complete the climb to the Keālia Shelter, enjoying panoramic ocean views before returning. ● Experienced hikers and backpackers continue along the old forest roads into the Kuaokalā Forest Reserve, connecting to Peacock Flats, Mokulēʻia Access Road, and other backcountry routes.
