
Nakoa Trail
Kāne'ohe to Windward / Toward North Shore
Nakoa Trail is a 2.5-mile loop through the mid-elevation rainforest of Kahana Valley. Including
the walk from the Orientation Center to the trailhead and back, most hikers cover about 5 miles
total. The route features dense tropical forest, multiple stream crossings, towering koa trees,
and historic remnants from the valley's military past. Hawaii DLNR
Unlike many of Oʻahu's summit hikes, this trail emphasizes immersion in the rainforest rather
than panoramic views.
